Learn how to use UserSentry to manage user activity and automate deactivations
The UserSentry app includes four main features: Dashboard, Automate, Users, and Audit Log.
1. Dashboard
The dashboard provides a quick overview of user activity.
•It highlights dormant users — users who haven't been active for more than the threshold you set (default: 90 days).
•You'll also see a widget showing users deactivated by the app, starting from zero and updating automatically as the automation runs.
2. Automate
This tab allows you to configure inactivity rules and automation.
•Set the number of inactivity days that defines when a user becomes dormant.
•View a preview list of users who would be deactivated if the automation were active.
•Choose to deactivate dormant users immediately, or enable daily automation, where the app checks once a day and deactivates any users inactive beyond your chosen threshold.
3. Users
This page lists all account users and their current status (active or deactivated).
•Each user has a "Skip Deactivation" checkbox — used mainly for API or service users.
•When selected, these users will be ignored by the automation, even if they appear dormant.
User Activity Indicator
Each user has a colored status dot showing their activity level:
Green: Active within the last 7 days
Orange: Last active 8-30 days ago
Red: Inactive for over 30 days or account is disabled
4. Audit Log
The audit log records every deactivation performed by the app.
It helps admins track historical actions for compliance and visibility.
